Beckenham College is an independent tutorial College located in South East London specialising in practical Office and Business skills training. It was established over 45 years ago (Beckenham Secretarial College, 1967) as a traditional secretarial college and has maintained a reputation in this area for excellence, thoroughness and professionalism. Whilst maintaining traditional values of exceptional quality and diligence, Beckenham College has evolved into a modern and innovative college, meeting the needs of the Office Professional of the 21st Century.

The college provides training to a broad and diverse market, from children to adults, private schools, colleges and the business sector. Our areas of speciality include training programmes which not only consist of traditional Secretarial, Office and IT skills but also soft skills for personal professional development. We provide a comprehensive and wide-ranging curriculum from foundation to advanced level. Training is class-roomed based and student centred with particular emphasis on individual guidance. We believe that in order for learning to be effective, courses need to be both enjoyable and tailored to suit the needs and abilities of the learner. Class sizes are small to provide maximum support for students to ensure first class passes. In addition, courses incorporate a mentoring and networking scheme to support career progression.

All our training programmes are qualification based and lead to recognised qualifications, such as City and Guilds, OCR and Edexcel.

Beckenham College and European Management Assistants EUMA

Elizabeth Wakeling is the National Training and Development Officer for EUMA an international quality network of management support professionals who focus on their personal development and on the future of their profession. The encouragement of members' individual development and the continued evolution of the management support profession are a few of the Association's aims. EUMA was founded in 1974, and is currently represented in 26 countries. There are National Groups in: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
